Welsh Campaigns

Darllen y dudalen hon yn Gymraeg

From iconic coastlines to winding rivers, our waters should be places where people and nature thrive. But right now, they’re being choked by sewage pollution, plastic waste, and toxic chemicals—a perfect storm that’s making water users sick and devastating our environment.

With the 2026 Senedd election results announced, we have newly elected representatives in Wales ready to hear what their constituents want. We need to be louder than ever.

With a shake up of the regulator expected over the next year and new Senedd members, we have a rare chance to fix the broken water system in Wales. Find out what the election results mean for Wales’s wild waters and how you can take action here.

Take action for Wales’s waters

Discover our Manifesto for Wales

We’ve spoken with communities, grassroots groups, and environmental organisations across Wales to help us develop a manifesto that can end sewage and plastic pollution for good. Whether you surf, swim, paddle, or simply care about protecting Wales’s natural heritage, there’s never been a more important moment to take action. Find our Manifesto for Wales here in English and Welsh

This manifesto is yours to use. Start conversations with local communities and businesses, take it to newly elected representatives and ask what they and their party will do to deliver our asks, and let us know if we can support you. There are more recommendations for engaging MSs in our toolkit below too.

This manifesto – and our 2026 campaigning – centres on three key asks of the new Welsh Government:

  • Protect public health
  • Transform the Welsh water system, and
  • Cut plastic pollution and create a circular economy

The solutions exist. The power to deliver them lies with Wales’s new government, and with people like you holding them to account.

Sewage and plastic pollution are a real concern for waterside communities across Wales in this election. That’s why we ran hustings across the country from 12 – 16 April 2026, giving local communities a chance to ask their political candidates what their parties will do to tackle the sewage and plastic crisis.

Here’s where we went:

🌊 Sunday 12 April: Langland bay (Gwyr Abertawe)

🌊 Tuesday 14 April: Bridgend with A Peace for Nature (Pen-y-bont Bro Morgannwg & Afan Ogwr Rhondda)

🌊 Wednesday 15 April: LLanberis – Caffi Caban with Trash Free Trails (Dwyfor Meirionnydd)

🌊 Thursday 16 April: Abergavenny with Save The River Usk (Sir Fynwy Torfaen)
