How you can help protect our waves, oceans & beaches…
SAS is working tirelessly to reduce pollution entering the marine environment and relies on a strong network of supporters, volunteers and regional reps to help in the fight. Please help us report any pollution you witness at your favourite beaches.
If you get sick after surfing, please complete our short simple form to establish a basic file on people who have experienced health problems that may have been caused by exposure to polluted waters.
Get in touch with your local SAS to volunteer at events, take action on local issues, fundraise, organise community beach cleans and much more!
Download the Safer Seas Service App to keep yourself safe from sewage pollution and warn friends of any spills.
Sign the petition to stop plastic pollution in our oceans by introducing a deposit on plastic bottles
Support SAS on Facebook
Like SAS on Facebook and share the campaigns with your network! We already have over 50,000 FB supporters but the more we have, the more powerful the campaigning voice we have becomes!
Follow SAS on Twitter
Follow SAS on Twitter at @sascampaigns and help us spread the word to better protect waves, oceans and beaches across the UK.
We are encouraging all our supporters to take action as part of our award winning anti beach litter campaign Return To Offender, which has now seen SAS send over 2000 items of identifiable marine litter back to the manufacturers!
Every day people are flushing sanitary items such as cotton buds, sanitary towels, condoms and razors down the toilet instead of putting them in the bin. Known in the business as sewage related debris or SRD, this can have a huge impact on the water environment. Make sure your business or community has TBYF posters and stickers displayed prominently! Request a pack via [email protected]
Unfortunately, our beaches can suffer due to the huge volume of fats, oils and greases (FOGs) that are wrongly poured down kitchen sinks. These block the system and cause sewage spills. Make sure your business displays posters in the kitchen and that your home has a fat trap by the sink! Email us for posters and information leaflets!
Volunteer - SAS internships
SAS is grateful for all the volunteers who put up their hand to help us out. If you are a graduate, student or simply have a passion for what we do, you might be able to come and volunteer at SAS HQ. We run internships from anything from 2 weeks to a year! Email your CV to [email protected]
