Seas For Life For Christmas!

25 Cornish coastal  communities receive our new Seas For Life environmental information displays

We’re proud to announce the installation of 25 new Seas for Life community information displays at some of the most beautiful and iconic harbours in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, as part of our popular Seas For Life education programme.

Over the last two years we have worked with the Cornish Fish Producers Organisation (CFPO) and the Fisheries Local Action Group (FLAG) to promote sustainable coastal communities. After a successful pilot project in 2013, SAS has now installed these striking and inspirational information boards in 35 harbours, coves and river slipways along the entire Cornish coastline from Bude to Saltash.

Part of our Seas For Life education programme, these information boards highlight the importance of caring for the marine environment, protecting wildlife and supporting communities and industries that depend on a healthy sea. The Seas For Life boards will become fantastic focal points for community coastal protection activities such as beach cleans and school projects.

We will also be delivering school talks and mini community beach clean launch events at each of the 25 new ‘Seas For Life Communities’ and are encouraging local schools, community groups and beach lovers to get in touch with the SAS education team if you’d like to organise your own Seas For Life community event. You can also download a copy for your school or club wall here.

We would like to thank FLAG (Cornwall & the Isles of Scilly), CFPO, the Harbour Masters, Cornwall Council, Parish Councils, Harbour Commissions and communities for embracing the Seas For Life message. Look out for your nearest Seas For Life board this Christmas and learn how you can help your coastal community and protect our Seas For Life!
