Your Million Mile Clean – What you need to know

Great news, you’ve successfully registered your clean!

Here’s what you need to do next:

  • Equipment
If you’ve requested equipment, we’ll send this out in time for your clean – please allow up to 2 weeks for it to arrive.
  • Promotion
If your clean is public, promote it to invite as many volunteers to join as possible. We recommend creating a Facebook Event Page – you can find all the relevant assets here. Please email us if you would like to amend your clean to be displayed publicly on our map.
  • Notify the land owner
It’s always good to notify your local council, land manager or private land owner for any organised clean with over 6 people. In case you need them again here are all the useful documents you’ll need.

For extra risk management you may wish to complete free peninsular Risk Assessment training and First Aid Awareness Training.
  • Fundraise
Want to use your Million Mile Clean to help raise vital funds for our ocean-saving work? A sponsored clean is a perfect opportunity to do good twice: removing plastic pollution whilst also fuelling our fight to put an end to plastic pollution at the source. Create your fundraising page with us here. Have a fundraising question? Get in touch with our friendly fundraising team who’ll be happy to help.

Got any questions? Please check out the FAQs (FAQs – Million Mile Clean) on our website or drop us an email at [email protected].

Keep an eye out for an email five days before your clean with more information on how to get ready for the day.

Many Thanks
The SAS Million Mile Clean Team
