Given the current coronavirus pandemic, we want to ensure that all our supporters and volunteers are as safe as possible. With this is mind we are currently unable to offer any volunteering or work experience placements. We are constantly monitoring the situation and can’t wait to be able to offer these opportunities again in the future.
We are still more than happy to support students looking to complete cleans as a part of their Duke of Edinburgh Awards. Please contact beachcleans@sas.org.uk for more information.
What we offer…
At SAS we offer a range of ways you can join us. From working towards your various Duke of Edinburgh awards to doing your Work Experience with us; from sparing a few hours a week to month-long projects; we will have fun, engaging and meaningful work for you to do.
We have had more than a little success with our volunteers going on to great things! Staff members Ellie (Education Officer) and Jack (Community Manager) both started out with us working on Volunteer Projects, while David started as a volunteer, then became a Rep and was our Science and Policy Manager for 3 years. Multiple Work Experience participants have also gone on to become Regional Reps, including Lily Copping, Alex Goodchild, Maddie Davison and Jake Brown.
It’s not all about us though, the CV benefits and valuable experience you will obtain while with us will hopefully set you in good stead to continue working in marine conservation. Have a look at the specific roles below and, once you have found an opportunity that suits you, send an email to Jack (jack@sas.org.uk) with the dates you are looking to fill and a little information about yourself (specific areas you are interested in etc.).
