Paddle-Out Protests 2026

This Saturday. Paddle-Out & Protest. End Sewage Pollution.

This Saturday 16th May, thousands of people across the UK will take to the water, shorelines and riverbanks to demand an end to sewage pollution. Find your local Paddle-Out Protest location below, or join us on Zoom, and be a part of SAS’s biggest national day of action on record!

Please note: due to this week’s tragic incident in Brighton, the Paddle-Out Protests at Brighton West Pier and Rottingdean have been cancelled. Our thoughts are with everyone impacted. All other protests across the UK (and online) are still going ahead.

What is a Paddle-Out Protest?

Paddle-Out Protests are a pivotal moment in the campaign calendar. They are sewage pollution protests run by local communities. This year, we have 56 happening across the UK, which will see people coming together to stand up to the water industry in the very spaces we want to protect – the water, the beaches, the rivers and all that surrounds them.

You don’t have to be in the water to join in. Take part in the way that works for you. Whether that’s joining us on the water’s edge, dipping your toes, floating in the water or paddling out on a board. Just bring yourself, a placard and a whole lot of energy!

Can’t be there in person? Whether it’s caring responsibilities, physical or emotional barriers, or simply time, we know not everyone is able to join in person. So we’ve organised our first ever Paddle-Out Protest on Zoom at 9am this Saturday 16th May. We’d love to see you there.
