Hey, I’m Chad. I’m originally from Marske-by-the-Sea but now living in North Tyneside. Growing up a few steps from the North Sea and under the shadow of the North York Moors, I’ve always felt a deep sense of responsibility to do my bit to protect the marine environment and our natural world.
So with a background in campaigning, communications and fundraising, I decided to join up with SAS and make Ouseburn – one of my favourite inner city areas of Newcastle – an accredited Plastic Free Community.
Following Ouseburn achieving PFC status I’ve continued to work on water quality issues across the North East, most recently campaigning alongside MPs and the Tyne Rivers Trust to reduce sewage discharges from our biggest regional water company.
I believe it’s important we encourage and nurture environmental activism in all its forms throughout the towns and cities in which we live. Being an SAS Regional Rep has provided me with a voice and a platform to do this and my inbox is always open to others wanting to help lead the charge in this wonderful patch of the UK.
