The SAS 35th Anniversary Ball was EPIC

The 2025 SAS Ball was nothing short of incredible. Rain or shine, you showed up, danced hard, and made it a night to remember.

Wow. We’re still buzzing after an absolutely magical, windswept, and unforgettable night on the cliffs of St Agnes!

Despite the wild Cornish weather—you showed up in your thousands to celebrate, support, and stand up for our mission to protect the ocean, rivers, and lakes. You turned a grey, damp evening into a kaleidoscope of colour, music, and joy. Thank you.

We asked you to go big on ocean-themed fancy dress, and you went huge. The creativity and dedication were mind-blowing—mermaids shimmering in the rain, glowing jellyfish bobbing through the crowd, pirates, lobsters, sharks, sailors, and so many upcycled masterpieces. You truly embodied our call to reuse, recycle, and upcycle, transforming practical rainproof gear into works of art. You turned the cliffs into a living, breathing ocean festival, and it was truly a sight to behold.

From 3 pm to midnight, the epic music kept us moving and grooving. With acts like Dreadzone, A Blaze of Feather, The Oggymen, and so many incredible local artists, the soundtrack to the night was unforgettable. You sang, swayed, and jumped along to every beat—even as the sea spray and drizzle drifted in. Highlights included the insane energy from The Tinnies, which blew the roof off the Anarchist Arms. And all our amazing guest speakers, who inspired us all to keep fighting for our blue planet.

As our CEO panel discussion host, John Elkington, noted:

“For me, the extraordinary charm of Surfers Against Sewage is its sense of humor, its playfulness and the joy that members show in interacting with and campaigning for the natural world […] To sustain the necessary level of effort over the necessary expanses of time, most of us will need some fun along the way.”
