Our favourite annual business supporter event returned this November where we celebrated the incredible support from our corporate community.

We recognise the immense support we receive from businesses and it’s so inspiring to see so many of our supporters wanting to have their businesses as a force for good. It’s not just Ocean Network members that came to the event either. We have some incredible Ocean Activists, businesses that support us through 1% For the Planet, where a percentage of all profits are donated to SAS, as well as those that support us through product sales and event sponsorship.

Held at Paintworks in Bristol, guests were welcomed with their Ocean Activist pins followed by some delicious drinks, kindly supported by our good friends St Ives Brewery and Mermaid Gin. The event was also supported with alcohol free beers from our friends at Athletic Brewing.

A couple of speeches from the SAS team kick-started the evening, with our incredible guest speaker Thomas Panton following after.

Thomas owns the sustainable marketplace Greenr. Thomas worked at Greenpeace for over five years before taking the plunge. He started up two of his own businesses in the sustainability space. Not only that, but Thomas is a Business Climate Leader for Norfolk. Here he advises businesses across the region on how to hit their Net Zero targets. At the event, he spoke about the challenges of presenting sustainable solutions in order to tackle the impact of consumerism on the climate.

Our impact and your support

The SAS team spoke about the impact we’ve been able to achieve this year. With the support from businesses, we’re able to then showcase the plans for the future. Most importantly, we’d like to involve our supporters to become a part of the Ocean Activist movement.
