FAQs

The SAS Ball is a vibrant one-day celebration hosted by Surfers Against Sewage, taking place on 5th July atop the stunning cliffs of St Agnes, Cornwall. But don’t be fooled by the name—this isn’t your typical ‘Ball’.

Spread across three lively stages, the event has more of a festival feel, with live music, incredible bands, DJs, inspiring speakers, and delicious food and drink. It’s a powerful moment for the community to come together—to dance, connect, and celebrate everything we stand for.

No one is ‘too old’ to come to the SAS Ball! Hundreds of ‘old-time Ballers’ have already got their tickets. And there will be people of all ages attending, from kids up to grandparents.

This is an inclusive event and will include a quiet space, tea tent, and plenty of areas to sit down and chill out. Yet the creativity, heritage and vibe of the original SAS Balls will remain. If you’ve been to one before and loved it, you won’t want to miss this!

Yes! We already have hundreds of kids attending and the Ball site is set up for family fun with educational stalls, activities, talks, food trucks and quiet areas. All children need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

No, you don’t! There will be a real mix of attendees, some with connections to SAS and many who are new to the crew. And you definitely do not need to surf to be part of our community.

So whether you’re coming for the music, the vibes, or because you’re curious about Ocean Activism—we’ll be welcoming you with open arms.

Plus, you can feel good knowing that ticket proceeds are going towards helping fund our fight to protect our seas, rivers and lakes from the polluters.

Absolutely! The Ball is a great place to meet people, connect with the local community and dip your toes into all things SAS. We’re a friendly bunch and would love to have you along.

This year’s fancy dress theme is… The Ocean!

It’s the reason we do everything we do. So let’s celebrate it! 🌊 We’re going back to our roots and encouraging everyone to rep some epic fancy dress like the old Ball days…

From mermaids, sailors and surfers, to jellyfish, lobsters and sharks—bright colours, sustainable sparkles, face paint and festival attire is actively encouraged!

Don’t want to go in fancy dress?

No worries—get inspired by the dress code: Dinner jackets and boardshorts, frocks and flip flops. Whether you want to rock some boardies and beachwear or make an entrance in black tie and ball gowns, we want you to wear what you feel your best in!

We encourage everyone to re-use, recycle and upcycle existing clothing, accessories and materials for the Ball. Get creative with it! Vinted, charity shops and clothes swaps are great ways to get extra pieces you need for your costume.

Let’s dress to impress, dance and celebrate—we can’t wait to see your outfits!

We have a limited number of tickets and they are selling fast. So if you’re keen to come along, we recommend getting your ticket as soon as possible. Tickets will not be available to purchase on the door, so you must buy them in advance.
