Our wild waters are life-giving. They’re an incredible boost to our health and wellbeing. Vital for nature to thrive. And a place where so many of us forge community connections.

But they’re in urgent need of life-saving too. Our waterways have faced decades of neglect and, even now, still suffer from sewage pollution.

YOU can help. Challenge yourself to dip every day in October in cold water, to raise vital funds to end sewage pollution in our rivers and seas.

Dip A Day in October is our communities’ favourite fundraiser. This annual event sees water loving communities from across the UK unite to raise money for our ocean-saving work through committing to the challenge of dipping every day throughout the month of October in cold water. Get involved!

Yes, absolutely! Sign up here and just click ‘continue’ instead of submit with Facebook.

Any cold water that’s safe and accessible to you. Whether it’s your shower, paddling pool, lido, local beach or river, you can get involved.

Cold water causes short-term stress, which kickstarts the body and gives you a high from increased dopamine, serotonin and b-endorphin levels. Plus, studies have shown that cold water can boost your immune system and could potentially help with conditions from rheumatism to depression. It’s not just the cold water though, it’s also being immersed and in-touch with nature. Read Tom’s story about how the ocean changed his life.

Every penny raised will go towards our ocean-saving work: helping us to continue calling out dirty polluters to stop single-use at source, challenging the UK government and utilities on their shocking sewage pollution, turning the tide of plastic by running record-breaking beach cleans, creating change-making, pupil-led education programmes, and empowering every person everywhere to fight for the ocean. Safety first. Always. Read our safety guidance and T&Cs before taking the plunge.

We have our incredible Data HQ, where you can access real-time sewage discharges across the UK (as well as historic data). You can also access all the data we have from our citizen scientists testing water quality across the UK too. Read our safety guidance and T&Cs before taking the plunge.
