This #GivingTuesday, we are delighted to announce a new partnership with Hydro Flask.

Surfers Against Sewage has received $50,000 from the brand’s charitable grant programme, Parks For All, to support our Regional Reps scheme and 2019 summer beach clean campaign.

Here at SAS we have 168 fully equipped, well-trained, passionate volunteers across the nation; our Regional Reps. They are the authentic voice of our oceans, active in all our communities and on the beaches and waterways where we live and surf.

In 2018 alone, our incredible Reps delivered 493 beach cleans, mobilised 21,446 volunteers and removed 35,959kg of plastic pollution. With this generous donation, 2019 is shaping up to be even bigger and better.

SAS Chief Executive Hugo Tagholm said: “Surfers Against Sewage is at the forefront of tackling plastic pollution in the UK from source to sea. We’re thrilled to have the support of Hydro Flask’s Parks For All, which will help us continue to engage, inspire and mobilise volunteers on beaches, rivers and city streets to fight the plastic tide.

“We engage over 75,000 volunteers annually who contribute a huge 250,000 hours to protecting our waterways and keeping beaches clean, removing and recycling thousands of kilos of plastics.

“Our Plastic Free Communities movement is also spreading across villages, towns and cities, encouraging citizens to move away from avoidable plastics and move to re-useable, sustainable alternatives. This movement is the driving force behind our calls for the elimination of single-use plastics for a cleaner, bluer future.”

At Hydro Flask we are inspired by the breadth and depth of work being done by SAS to protect oceans, beaches, waves and wildlife.”
