Get more from your event

If you’re reading this, then you’re planning on doing something pretty epic to protect our oceans!

We want your event to go without a hitch so we’ve put together our top tips and ideas to ensure you hit your fundraising target.

Promote the cause.

Most importantly, make sure you let people know the inspiration behind your fundraising  event or challenge and the difference their donation makes. They’ll be much more likely to support you.

Don’t be afraid to share!

Remember, people want to hear all about the good things you are doing so share it with them. There are now so many platforms you can use – email, Facebook, WhatsApp, Twitter… the list is endless!

Set your target!

Did you know, on average people raise 46% more if they set a target?

Depending on your challenge it could be £X per mile, entry fee’s to a quiz .. the possibilities are endless so get creative to hit your fundraising target.

Be creative!

We’ve all seen people running in fancy dress so why not use your target to do just that!

For example, if you help me reach £1000, I will take part in the event wearing fancy dress.

Get your friends involved!

Rally the troops and convince them to get involved with your event and challenge too.

You can all plan for your event or train for your challenge together – making the experience more fun!

We want to know!

Don’t forget to let us know all about your fundraising plans. We may be able to share your fundraising page, or promote your event.

Supply us with your address and we can make sure you’re kitted out for the event too!

Crossing the finish line!

You may have crossed the finish line or the doors have closed closed on the evening of your event but don’t stop sharing there.

Did you know, on average 20% of donations come in after the event?

Don’t forget about gift aid.

When a person donates to your page, remind them to tick the Gift Aid box if they are a UK tax payer. We may be able to claim an additional 25p for every pound they donate at no extra cost to them.

Use of our logo.
