We want your event to go without a hitch so we’ve put together our top tips and ideas to ensure you hit your fundraising target.
Most importantly, make sure you let people know the inspiration behind your fundraising event or challenge and the difference their donation makes. They’ll be much more likely to support you.
Remember, people want to hear all about the good things you are doing so share it with them. There are now so many platforms you can use – email, Facebook, WhatsApp, Twitter… the list is endless!
Did you know, on average people raise 46% more if they set a target?
Depending on your challenge it could be £X per mile, entry fee’s to a quiz .. the possibilities are endless so get creative to hit your fundraising target.
We’ve all seen people running in fancy dress so why not use your target to do just that!
For example, if you help me reach £1000, I will take part in the event wearing fancy dress.
Rally the troops and convince them to get involved with your event and challenge too.
You can all plan for your event or train for your challenge together – making the experience more fun!
Don’t forget to let us know all about your fundraising plans. We may be able to share your fundraising page, or promote your event.
Supply us with your address and we can make sure you’re kitted out for the event too!
You may have crossed the finish line or the doors have closed closed on the evening of your event but don’t stop sharing there.
Did you know, on average 20% of donations come in after the event?
When a person donates to your page, remind them to tick the Gift Aid box if they are a UK tax payer. We may be able to claim an additional 25p for every pound they donate at no extra cost to them.
When you promote your fundraiser, make sure you make clear that you are fundraising ‘in aid of’ Surfers Against Sewage and not on behalf of.
