In October 2018, SAS was chosen by the Met Office as its official charity partner for the next three years.
“At the Met Office, everyone has a passion for working with weather and climate science to provide information that helps keep people safe, helps them prosper and supports their wellbeing.
“The atmosphere and the oceans work together to influence long term climate and create the weather we experience every day. This means there is a close tie with the work done by Surfers Against Sewage to raise awareness of the impact humans are having on our oceans.
“We’ve started our partnership by pledging to remove three items of single-use plastic from the Met Office HQ in Exeter- drinking straws, cutlery and water cups. We all look forward to raising money for SAS over the next three years and supporting its work to help clean up our oceans.”
