Richard has been involved with SAS since 1995 when he started providing graphic and creative support for the Brighton campaign (remember Vic the Virus and those vertical paddle posters!) and then took over from Captain Poo (Andrew Coleman) as a Regional Rep and was invited onto the board of directors in 1998.
Richard earns a living as a director of a company called Kind Design and is also establishing wavedreamer as a portal for his own quirky video portraits of surfing in the UK.
As a founding sponsor of the Museum of British Surfing, Richard is now the Chair of the Board of Trustees, the museum is now a registered charity.
He believes that growing food is a political activity and is Chairperson of Woolacombe Allotments and Garden Association which has established a new site next to the village on National Trust land in an AONB.
Richard Lives in Woolacombe with his girlfriend Zoe and their son Isaac.
