I joined Surfers Against Sewage in July 2021. Being part of the comms team, I help increase our impact, spread the word about the incredible work being done, and share stories from the ever-growing community of ocean activists.
I grew up windsurfing and dinghy sailing on the Thames Estuary, bodyboarding at Chapel Porth on summer holidays, and getting in the water at any opportunity. I moved to Falmouth for uni at which point Cornwall well and truly stole my heart and felt like home. After graduating I moved to Bristol and began my journey in Marketing and Communications. Regular surf trips to South Wales and Devon didn’t quite fulfil my longing to be by the sea and eventually, I answered the call from the ocean and came back to the incredible Cornish coastline.
No matter what is happening the ocean has always been the one place I can go, it’s my protection. Now more than ever it’s time to return that favour and help it to recover, restore and be protected for generations to come.
I’m so proud to be part of the team at Surfers Against Sewage, to continue this incredible legacy of work for the ocean and be part of the action needed to tackle the ocean and climate emergency.
