I first became involved with SAS as a volunteer in 2015 having been to a Beach Clean on my local beach in Falmouth. I have always loved coming into the SAS office and am thrilled to now be working with the great team here to support all the wonderful small trusts that fund our work.
Castle Beach in Falmouth is my ‘local’ and I either walk on it or run past it every day. I love how it changes with the seasons and the wind direction; I don’t love how much rubbish is thrown up after a southerly.
Working to protect our oceans and climate complements another of my interests – renewable energy – and I work with Fal Energy Partnership, a community benefit organisation, to promote community-owned energy and energy justice.
I am also a keen cyclist. I ride with the local ladies group Breeze Belles and in 2015 completed the 1000 miles from St Malo to Nice in 2 weeks unsupported with my husband to raise money for SAS. More often though I enjoy riding the hilly coastline in Cornwall in search of coffee and cake!
