I joined Surfers Against Sewage in March 2020. As SAS’s Policy Officer I will be making sure that the Oceans voice echoes from the coastlines of the UK, up through the rivers and across the green spaces all the way to the halls of Westminster. The UK finds itself with an opportunity to become a world leader in tackling the environmental and climate crisis and I am excited to be part of a brilliant movement campaigning to make that vision a reality.
Growing up in the Isle of Man the Irish Sea was my playground with many hours spent swimming (poorly), surfing (enthusiastically), paddle boarding (leisurely) and trying to warm up after (religiously). My first foray to the southwest was studying History and International Relations at the University of Exeter. After a short stint testing the waters down under I worked within the External Relations Division of the Isle of Man Government handling the Isle of Man’s overseas aid budget, political engagement in Westminster and managing the implications of Brexit.
Having only dabbled with Kernow’s beaches before moving down, I am looking forward to having time to explore Cornwall a lot more and searching for that elusive barrel!
