I’ve always been drawn to the sea, I spent my childhood on the beaches of Devon and now any free time I have is spent in Cornwall where I live with my action adventure partner! We love snorkelling, kayaking and coastal walks. On the weekends you can usually find us scaling a treacherous cliff to reach the secluded, secret snorkelling spot below.
I was lucky enough to travel around the world and learnt to Scuba dive in New Zealand. This opened up a whole new world for me, and I couldn’t be more excited to explore Cornwall at depth… possibly in Spring with better visibility!
Unfortunately, this also opened my eyes to the world of plastic pollution, our catch bag would inevitably be filled with plastic bags, bottle lids and single-use sachets, which really hits home. Returning to the UK made us change how we use (or don’t use) our everyday items for the better.
I couldn’t be more proud to work for a charity with awesome, like-minded sea-lovers! My Job here at SAS is varied: I help out with fundraising and membership, crunch numbers with the finance team, walk the office dogs at lunch time on St Agnes beach, and look after our plastic-free office here at SAS HQ!
If you have any innovative plastic-free office/kitchen ideas, or fun kayaking routes, all thoughts are welcome!
