Sian Sykes
Anglesey - Wales Rep
I was born on the edge of Snowdonia and enjoyed growing up in beautiful North Wales, lucky enough to be close to the sea and mountains. During my adult life, I used to work in Creative Media in London as a Project Director. However after working 15 years and working 18 hour days in the industry, I wanted a better balance in life, to reconnect with nature and to be closer to the sea and mountains. That’s when I re changed my focus in life and moved back home, to do what I love doing. Now I run my own business, Psyched Paddleboarding in Anglesey and Snowdonia and I’m so much happier. I am passionate about paddleboarding and the environment and I recently completed the first stand up paddleboarding (SUP) circumnavigation of Anglesey raising money for SAS and North Wales Wildlife Trust.
I feel proud to call Anglesey home and I want to inspire and educate my guests who come paddleboarding with me about reducing our impact we have on the environment and to be a role model too. I encourage my guests to pick up any found little and to recycle it and to suggest alternative ways of consumption. My mission is to inspire others about what our wonderful coastline has to offer and how we can look after it and I feel very excited to now be part of the fantastic family at SAS.
I’m often paddleboarding, walking Ruby my dog, swimming at my local beach, Newborough.
