Raised on the Northumberland coast has meant that marine wildlife & conservation has always been an issue close to my heart. After studying BSc conservation and then MSc wildlife management at University I started working as a technician within a hatchery aimed at enhancing and conserving the local population of European Lobsters. I regularly carry out and attend beach cleans along the Northumberland coast, although any trip to the beach inevitably involves a beach clean whether Its intended or not.
I love the educational side of conservation and believe that awareness can make all the difference. If people were aware of how that discarded plastic bag/bottle or released balloon truly impact the marine animals they get excited to see, then I believe they would think twice in future.
I hike, kayak, paddle board and scuba dive, but admittadly surfing is something I just can’t seem to master.
I’m friendly as pie, so just come and say hi!
