I can’t remember a time when I wasn’t playing in the water. I learnt to swim underwater before on top. I was given my first sail board as a teenager and spent my weekends going up and down a small lake in Andover. Dragging my poor sister to the sea at ever opportunity (she is not a lover of the beach) with my mum loading my board on the roof of the car while my dad was harvesting.
I went on a holiday with a friend to Bude and bought a wooden belly board and I was finally lost to the sea. Now a keen surfer, belly boarder and paddle boarder, I’m not the best but definitely the one with the biggest smile out in the water.
At university I joined the SAS back in the day when you sent a cheque in the post and have been a member ever since. I can’t remember the time I stopped walking over the litter on the beach and started picking it up. I’m really interested in helping people find alternatives to single use plastics and making positive changes.
