Also known as ‘Boardy’, I was Born in Sussex, bred in Somerset, always lived by the sea – apart from a stint in Austria as a Snowboarding chalet boy. Burnham-on-Sea has been my home since 2002. It has some of the best wind & waves on the Somerset coast and a history of Windsurfing going back over 30 years, which I’ve been a part of since 1996. I love boardsports and did a few years in the industry as a manager at Wet & Windy Watersports shop in Bristol. Digital weby-cody-servery stuff is my desk job today, and I’m also the local Windsurfing sail repairer. My favourite film is Blue Juice.
Although the sea’s brown in Somerset and a lot of the beach is mud, (and Burnham is overshadowed by a few nuclear power stations), I am often saying to people it’s not as bad as it looks. I want to say this with confidence and encourage others to use the beach, just as much as to look after it. I am very proud to be the first rep for Burnham-on-Sea and just as proud to work with Surfers Against Sewage.
