Although I don’t surf myself, I have spent the last 17 years around the surfing community and moved to North Tyneside from Hertfordshire (via Manchester) for the amazing surf. I immediately felt at home around the beaches of North Tyneside my local beach at the Fish Quay, North Shields is my favourite.
I started organising beach cleans when I got a dog and saw all the rubbish on the beach where I walk her. I got involved with SAS through organising these beach cleans and am also a community leader for the Plastic Free Coastlines project.
I’m passionate about keeping my local beach clean and educating people on the damage that plastic and litter is doing to our marine wildlife.
