I was lucky enough to spend the first few years of my life on the West Coast of Scotland, searching through rock pools and jellyfish hunting. I love to be both in and on the water, whether it’s surfing, scuba diving or wakeboarding. This affinity for the ocean has developed into a true passion and has even motivated me to pursue a career as a full time marine biologist! I am currently into my 3rd year studying the subject at the University of Glasgow.
After being fortunate enough to work on various yachts around the world I have observed first hand the negative anthropological effects on the world’s oceans.
I am particularly interested on the both the long and short effects of plastic on marine animals. This area of research is becoming more and more important as the number of plastic pollutants in the ocean continues to increase.
I am incredibly excited to become part of the SAS team, helping to empower and motivate others in taking a hands on approach in marine conservation work.
