I began surfing and stand up paddle-boarding three years ago whilst studying my undergraduate degree in Geography at Aberystwyth. My studies of the Ystwyth and Rheidol rivers taught me exactly what pollutants I may be ingesting when I wipe out at my local spot at the mouth of the harbour. That was when I discovered Surfers Against Sewage and decided to start doing my bit.
I now live on the Gower and have become a team rider for Loco SUP’s. I keep litter pickers in the boot of my car ‘in case of emergencies’ when on walks with my beach cleaning sidekick; my spaniel, Oscar.
I’m currently studying an MA in Nature and Travel Writing and the sea is my main source of inspiration. Luckily I’m surrounded by Swansea’s beautiful beaches and I’m determined to keep them that way.
