Julien Moreau
North West Scotland - Scotland & Hebrides Rep
I grew up in Dakar and knew how to swim at the same time as I could walk. All my life has been focussing on the ocean and in particular the Atlantic.
Surfing is one of the things I enjoy the most with the ocean but just as much as observing wildlife, swimming or just smelling it, watching the sunset. I used to be a researcher in geosciences and have worked in many universities in Europe. However, my tie to the ocean and need for wilderness brought me back to the NW corner of Scotland where everywhere is the sea.
I have noticed over the years the sharp increase in pollution affecting the ocean and all the things which are linked to it. I am active in trying to cope with what arrives on the shore and to communicate the problem of ocean pollution to the public.
I have joined as an SAS Rep because I believe that we need to cut the problem at the source and this can only happen by communicating at a large scale to our local and national governments.
