Having grown up on the North Wales coast I have experienced the sea in so many exciting and exhilarating ways. I have much respect for the sea, its processes and its marine life. It is just so unfortunate that us humans are taking the oceans’ importance for granted. We are exploiting it unsustainably and are causing immense damage in numerous ways.
I am a keen water sport enthusiast and have tried my hand at sailing, surfing, wind surfing, kite surfing, paddle boarding, kayaking and boating. I just wish there were more hours in the day!
I began to understand the immense anthropogenic threats facing the marine environment when I began my studies in Marine Conservation at Cornwall College, Newquay. I am now close to completing my degree in Marine Biology at the University of Bangor and have many aspirations of how I aim to continue being a champion for global oceans.
