Emma Nicol
Bristol - South West Rep
Growing up in Aberdeen I’ve been lucky to have access to the sea on my doorstep. I’ve been in the South West now for a number of years and it was moving here and getting into surfing that really cemented the adoration that I have for the sea. I am enchanted by its mystery and love the feeling of a wave rolling over my head and removing any stresses. When I’m not in my day job you’ll find me in a river, in the sea or out in my garden!
I’ve been passionate about environmental justice for a number of years and really believe in the work that Surfers Against Sewage are doing. SAS is a great place for me to make use of the skills I am currently gaining on my MSc in science communication and start a deeper involvement with environmental conservation and communications. I hope to be a key part in keeping our oceans clean and inspiring others to do the same, so that future generations can enjoy the wonders of the ocean for decades to come.
