Craig Holmes
Kehelland - South West Rep
Having grown up half in the water, half on the farm, an appreciation for the natural world has been ingrained in me from a young age.
The North Coast of Ireland has provided me with a number of ways to explore and enjoy the ocean, whether it be surfing, kayaking, cliff jumping or wakeboarding – there’s always something to get involved with.
As humans, we seem to have lost the ability to connect our actions to their environmental consequences, but the work of charities like Surfers Against Sewage has inspired me to tackle the issues of environmental sustainability and climate change hands on.
Having felt the urge to take more action, I regularly head out on my kayak with a litter picker along the rivers and coastline of Northern Ireland. The amount of waste collected inspires me to do more every day, which is why I’m very happy to be working with SAS as a Rep, facilitating the education and inspiration of other people, promoting a sense of responsibility for keeping our oceans and coastlines free of plastic pollution.
