Porthtowan - South West Rep
As a student of marine biology, my biggest driver in life is to make a difference in the conservation of the marine environment, and as Cornish girl, there is nothing more important to me than our own seas and beaches! My degree in Marine Biology with the University of Exeter has deepened not just my knowledge of our marine environment, but also my passion for it.
Plastic pollution is one of our biggest environmental fights and one that greatly concerns us here in Cornwall, threatening our marine life and littering our beaches. We are all in a position to make a change! It is, therefore, my great pleasure to be working with SAS to clean our beaches, help with the education of our younger generation, and spread the word of ways in which we can all help to reduce the impact of the plastic problem. Porthtowan is my home and the place closest to my heart, so I am very lucky to be helping to fight this issue on home turf!
I have always admired the work that is done at Surfers Against Sewage in allowing us the opportunity to learn about and be involved in the protection of our coastlines. As reps, we are here to facilitate that engagement through beach cleans, community events or just having a chat, I am always available!
