Poole - South Rep
I have worked in the Public Sector for many years now and was at agricultural college before that studying Forestry, Arboriculture and Countryside Management. I have strong feelings about the environment and how we are affecting it as a whole. My studies are all land-based but most of my hobbies are water based. Witnessing first hand the pollution on beaches around the South, South West and British Isles as a whole, I have always had a drive inside of me to do what I can
I now live in Hamworthy on the edge of Poole Harbour. This coast has so much natural beauty to offer from marine life, flora and fauna to specialist wildlife and bird habitats, along with of course the Jurassic Coast with its stunning geology. Living this close to the sea it gives me the perfect opportunity to do as much as I can within the local community to inspire others to take pride in where they live.
I am a South West kid born and bread, This is fantastic news for me as I’m a very keen bodyboard, handplane and mountain bike user, most week nights or early mornings I will be found on the coast looking for a good swell and picking up what I can as I leave the beach. I ask everyone to do the same not just at organised events. I’m a strong believer in actions rather than words and to be seen to pick up marine litter or litter on tracks, in the hope to act as an example to others and they start doing the same.
