Now recruiting SAS Regional Reps!

Nationwide network set for expansion thanks to the support of Speedo.

The SAS Regional Reps initiative has been one of SAS’s biggest success stories of the last three years, helping us resource and deliver our growing range of projects and campaigns in most corners of the UK. From just a handful of regional reps  in 2008, we now have 22 skilled, informed, passionate and dedicated SAS Reps representing us in coastal communities nationwide, from Brighton to Glasgow. You our current Reps’ profiles here…

We are delighted to announce that Speedo have confirmed their support for the SAS Regional Reps programme over the next two years, helping us provide training events, develop exciting new environmental initiatives and deliver community volunteering activities in even more seaside locations.

Over the next 18 months we are looking to recruit up to 18 new Regional Reps to help protect the UK’s unique natural wave, coastal and aquatic heritage. Areas we are looking to increase coverage for include:

  • Thurso
  • Fraserburgh
  • Aberystwyth
  • The Wirral
  • The Orkneys
  • The Hebrides
  • The Channel Islands
  • Tynemouth
  • Plymouth/South Hams
  • Bude
  • Boscombe & Bournemouth

We will consider all areas and applications from around the UK coast or locations important to watersports/the watersports community.

SAS Reps come from a variety of professional, educational and community backgrounds, all contributing to the programme in different ways. Whether rallying local support for Protect Our Waves issues, organising beach cleans, delivering SAS educational talks in schools, volunteering at local events or being part of national campaigns it all makes a big, positive impact. The main thing we ask for is belief, passion & commitment to the cause.

Becoming an SAS Regional Rep is entirely voluntary and can fit around each individual’s professional and personal commitments. The role is flexible and designed to bring out the skills, experience and expertise each individual can offer, as well as fitting around their available time. Contrary to popular belief, you don’t need to be a surfer to join the team, just someone who cares passionately about protecting our oceans and coastline.

Please send your CV and covering letter telling us about why you want to become an SAS Rep and which region, town or beach you’d like to represent. Email to info [at] sas [dot] org [dot] uk or send to SAS, Unit 2 Wheal Kitty Workshops, Wheal Kitty, St Agnes, Cornwall TR5 0RD.
