Where did the last 12 months go? Looking back, 2011 has been great for SAS, thanks mainly to the passion and power from our supporters. The successes and achievements detailed in this round belong to you all. And as Campaign Director I’d like to say a massive thank you for the help. We simply added this image and our thoughts. PLEASE, whatever you do, don’t copy this image and post on their FB page telling them what you think of Mountain Dew using our beaches as rubbish dumps, that would probably upset them!

Over 220 volunteers turn out to protect North Devon beaches with SAS & The Crown Estate
SAS & The Crown Estate were delighted to welcome over 220 beach clean volunteers to the North Devon Beach Clean Series, who together removed over 650kgs of marine litter from this amazing stretch of the UK's coastline. Woolacombe and Saunton Beach Lovers Turn Out In Force
SAS's excellent Autumn continued on the weekend of the 12th & 13th of November at beautiful Woolacombe and Saunton Beaches. Over 150 volunteers joined us in glorious sunshine and helped to remove almost half a tonne of marine litter from this amazing stretch of coastline.

Beach Lovers in Cornwall Set The Bar High For Scottish Beach Lovers!
2 beautiful Cornish beaches, over 300 amazing volunteers, more than half a tonne of marine litter swept from our coastline and a storming sunsoaked set from Ben Howard! The weekend of the 25th and 26th of June, at Widemouth Bay and Porthtowan, saw SAS's Barefoot Wine Beach Rescue Project reach a new level. Clean water campaigners Surfers Against Sewage (SAS) are joining forces with youth volunteers from the Mullion Community Centre, as part of the UK-wide ‘25th Hour’ social-legacy campaign to inspire more people to volunteer their time towards good causes and fight marine litter. Youth volunteers will be cleaning up marine litter from their beautiful local beach with SAS at Praa Sands on Sunday 7th November from 1.30pm with food at the Sandbar at 4pm.

This August, Surfers Against Sewage in association with the Quiksilver Foundation & myGames (powered by v), will be hitting the road with the biggest beach clean tour in its history. Since 1994, the volume of marine litter on UK beaches has increased by 146%* and SAS is helping combat this tide line of trash through its beach cleans and ongoing campaigns. ‘Motivocean’ is SAS’s most ambitious beach clean tour to date and will be calling in at over 20 major UK beaches and waterside locations across the nation, including:

Today is the 1st of March and the Met Office has called it the first day of spring. To welcome spring we organised beach cleans over the weekend all around the UK with the help of our SAS reps.
At Porthtowan we had over 80 volunteers collecting over 150 bags with a weight of 220kgs. We had sunshine, surf, rainbows and a great atmosphere. Thanks to Blue for the free hot chocolates and coffees!
