- Key beaches covered –Scarborough, Cayton and all around
- SAS background – Been involved with SAS activities since the early Aggie days. Organised beach cleans and fund raising events (Paddleboard jousting), working locally with Yorkshire water to improve communication and increase CSO telemetry.
- Specific Environmental interests – Mainly the impact of human waste and litter on marine flora and fauna.
- Quiver – Pretty extensive (see Profession, when you have a surf shop there are plenty of toys around) all I need is a carbon in-cut fish from Mark at Plank and I have all I need.
- Personal mission statement- My aims at the moment is to try and increase awareness and encourage people to be more pro-active. The problems we face aren’t just on two weekends a year at beachcleans, they are year round.

I’ve now been surfing for 32 years both in Cornwall and in the North East. I love it as much now as I did when I was 10. I run a surf shop, Fluid concept and teach people to surf. As surfers we are the ones who see the result of all the litter and effluent that goes in the water and it’s our responsibility to let people know the situation. When I teach people to surf the last thing any of us wants is a big poo floating by.
