Dr David Tudor – london@sas.org.uk
I am a PhD qualified specialist in marine, coastal and environmental matters. I am highly motivated, organised, flexible and professional with excellent interpersonal skills and an outgoing nature. I have great passion for the marine environment and a desire to offer my enthusiasm and abilities. The types of pollution that I am most concerned about are marine litter and sewage.
I am currently the Marine Policy Manger for The Crown Estate; a role which involves the full range of the organisation’s remit. This includes offshore wind energy, wave and tidal marine renewable energy, carbon capture & storage and marine spatial planning.
I was previously the Marine Policy Manager for the Environment Agency for 5 years. I led on policy development and technical advice to UK and devolved Governments. I had overall responsibility on marine legislation which included the Marine Strategy and the Water Framework Directives, the Marine Bill and the Bathing Waters Directive.
My duties have included regular representation at meetings with high level Government officials and Ministers in an influencing and advisory capacity. I give frequent presentations to stakeholder groups and conferences. I was also the Chair of the Wales Coastal and Maritime Partnership, a group of over thirty cross-sectoral organisations.
I was the Beach Litter Prevention Campaign Project Co-ordinator for Clean Up Australia in 2002 and 2003. Clean Up Australia is a conservation focused NGO that runs the global Clean Up The World program as well as domestic environmental campaigns. I was solely accountable for leading the Campaign and was required to run all aspects of the job, including:
• Liasing and co-operating with project partners, the public, stakeholders and funding bodies.
• Interacting with the media by providing press releases and media notifications along with conducting interviews for TV, radio and newspapers.
