Alex Wade is a writer and freelance journalist. A former media lawyer, Alex is the author of Surf Nation: In Search of the Fast Lefts and Hollow Rights of Britain and Ireland, a ground-breaking literary odyssey around the UK and Irish surf scene, as well as Wrecking Machine: A Tale of Real Rights and White Collars, a book which recounts his colourful former life and experiences as a white collar and amateur boxer. A keen sportsman, Alex was short-listed as sports feature writer of the year in 2009 and lives and surfs in the far west of Cornwall. He is currently working on a novel, continues to freelance for the likes of the Times and FT, and, from June, will be Acting Editor of Cornwall Today. Alex has been on the SAS board since 2007.
