SAS celebrate International Surfing Day at the Gold Coast Festival

Click to download PDFIt’s International Surfing Day on Friday 20th June and SAS will be kicking things off with a kid's environmental education day at the Gold Coast Ocean Festival in Croyde, North Devon.

International Surfing Day is a worldwide initiative that seeks to put the focus of surfers across the world, solely onto our troubled oceans. SAS campaigners will be taking time out from our busy diary of campaign actions and hard hitting research to initiate kids into the ways of our watery world by first getting them to grips with the core issues of what's good and what's not around the nations coastline.

Click to download PDFWe'll be introducing them to issues like when water quality is good and bad, the impacts toxic chemicals have on the wildlife we share our waves with, how shipping accidents can cause widespread pollution and what to do stop beach litter affecting their local breaks.

SAS is headlining the eco-village area of the Festival site and you'll be able to visit our stand throughout the 3 day festival to catch up on our campaigns and get involved in some of our popular actions.

The Gold Coast Ocean Festival is celebrating 10 years as an award winning surf and music festival and they'll be stacks on offer from 20th - 22nd June. To get full details go to http://www.goldcoastoceanfest.co.uk/
