SAS make Oxbow a diamond sponsor

Following the massive success of the Longlife longboard auction Surfers Against Sewage are delighted to announce that Oxbow have become the first ever diamond sponsor of the organisation. The surfboard auction raised over £70,000, funds that Oxbow will be donating to the SAS campaign.

The Longlife exhibition, developed by Oxbow, is a totally original concept. Artists were asked to design a surfboard based on the theme of coastal pollution, the boards then toured the country and were finally auctioned at the weekend. The artists including Damien Hirst, Banksy, Jamie Hewlett, David Carson, Paul Kaye, Laird Hamilton and Andy Hughes all gave their creative talents for free.

Vicky Garner, Campaign Director:

"SAS have been overwhelmed by the amount of money raised and are stoked to be able to make Oxbow our only diamond sponsor. The fact that Oxbow are donating the proceeds from this project to SAS demonstrates their commitment to clean seas. We look forward to turning the funds raised into hard hitting campaigns and ultimately pollution free waves".

The donation from Oxbow is the largest that SAS have received in the lifetime of the organisation (13 years). The category of diamond sponsorship has been created in recognition of this fact. Oxbow recognise that the water environment is an integral part of the surf industry and have taken the commendable step of giving something back to the environment by supporting SAS in a big way.
