Bank with the Co-op? Help SAS

What ends up down our drains, our sinks and toilets can end up in our water environment. Conventional sewage treatment is not designed to remove all chemicals from effluents before they are discharged.

By choosing the products we use in our homes with care, we can do our bit to limit the damage done to the environment.

Despite an ever-increasing variety of 'green' products available to buy, many of us continue to buy and use washing powders, toilet cleaners, bleaches and other household products that contain potentially damaging chemicals. Why is this?

SAS want to carry out research to determine the barriers to green buying. We can use this information to inform manufacturers and ultimately increase the amount of environmentally friendly purchasing that goes on (reducing the amount of nasty chemicals in the environment in the process)!
But we need the help of Co-op bank customers to do it.

For every £100 spent on Co-operative bank visa credit and debit cards, Co-op have pledged to donate 1.25p to their Customers Who Care campaign. This creates a campaign fund to raise awareness and campaign for change on issues relating the their ethical policy, as well as the bank's and customers' concerns. SAS are one of campaign groups who've been selected to benefit from the Customers Who Care campaign - we've outlined our project idea, now we need you to vote for it!

If you bank with the Co-op go to www.co-operativebank.co.uk/vote to register your support or call freephone 0800 5879 153.

Each vote the project gets, SAS receives more funds to carry out the project.

Votes are restricted to one per customer and you will need your account details to hand. Voting ends 30th September
