After
only being able to run a few categories due to lack of waves on
the weekend of the 8/9/10th August The SAS Ripcurl Cornish and
Open surfing competition finally got to continue over the bank
holiday weekend despite thick sea fog postponing the heats on
Saturday. On Sunday the Surfers took to the water in disappointing
2ft offshore conditions. This did not stop some outstanding performances
from all categories with Tom Butler winning a triple - the Youths,
Cadets and Juniors.

by local Sean Skippy Skilton - who won the Jimmy Mavor cup for
highest placed local. The longboard saw Ben Skinner beat the defending
champion Sam Bleakley. The ladies was won by Laura Hellyer form
North Devon.
The
SAS Lifetime achievement award went to Minnow Green who was ecstatic
to receive the award for all his support and hard work that he
puts in to help SAS.
