The
Surfers Against Sewage 2003 Calendar - supporting The Institute
of Cancer Research
The
Cream of British Surfers are proud to give their support (and
their Bodies) to SAS and The Institute of Cancer Research by appearing
in this top 'eye candy' calendar. We aim to raise funds and awareness
both for SAS and The Institute of Cancer Research in their battle
against Testicular and Breast Cancer. Not only does this calendar
give you some amazing, great, spectacular (the list goes on) bodies
to look at - it will also encourage you to regularly check yourself
and tell you how to do this properly - something that we are sure
you'll agree to be vital.

Vicky
Garner, Campaign Director, SAS -
"With reproductive disorders and incidences of breast and
testicular cancer on the up, the finger of blame is pointing increasingly
to the environment in which we live. Pollution in our water, air
and food can directly affect our health and being water users,
surfers are likely to be more at risk than most. We hope this
calendar will serve to raise awareness of the potential link between
illness and the quality of the water we use - a link that we will
be able to further research, as a result of funds raised through
its sale"

Hugo
Middlemas, Fund-raising manager at The Institute of Cancer Research
said "We are delighted that S.A.S is doing this calendar
to help raise more awareness and funds for research into breast
and testicular cancers. It's a fun calendar but has a serious
message and we hope that more young men and women will know the
symptoms of these cancers and will therefore go to their GP if
they feel something is wrong."

Alan
Stokes (2001, 2002 English Champ), Ben Skinner (current British
and English Longboard champ, Jake Boex (2 x British Student Champ
1999, 2000), Gabriel Davies (2000 British Champ, Cosmo top 50
Bachelor of the year finalist 2000), Russell Winter (European
no 1 pro surfer, only British representative on the World Championship
tour) and Dan 'Mole' Joel (2x British Champ, former top Cosmo
top 50 Bachelor of the year finalist 2001) to name but a few of
the surfers who allowed acclaimed photographer Neale Haynes (Esquire,
Maxim & Loaded) to capture them on film. As well as being
big supporters of SAS all the surfers were keen to give their
time to help make the calendar a huge success and raise loads
of funds for both causes.

The
calendars are available through the SAS office 0845 458 3001,
or at SAS supportive shops (check SAS website for stockists in
