Fundraising Amnesty

Unfortunately, it has come to our attention that a small number of events have been organised and promoted as a fundraiser for Surfers Against Sewage, from which we have not yet received any funds.

As a small team here, although we would love to organise more fundraisers it's not always possible, so we really appreciate it when our supporters organise fundraisers on our behalf; and we take pride in being able to assure everyone who organises, takes part in and donates to an SAS fundraiser, that all monies received will go straight into our campaign for effluent and toxic free waters for all.

This is why it is so disappointing to hear that a small number of events have been run where we cannot be sure that the money people have donated has gone straight to our campaign.

Current legislation requires monies raised for a charitable organisation, through fundraising events, to be paid over to the beneficiary within 30 days of the event, otherwise the organiser of the event could be liable for prosecution.

If you have been to an SAS fundraiser in the last year, please get in contact with us to make sure that the money from the fundraiser has made it to our Hard Core Fund. In addition, if you have organised a fundraiser on behalf of SAS and have not yet sent in all the money raised, please get in touch with us and we can send you a paying in slip. Phone the office on 01872 553001 or email info@sas.org.uk.
