Sprout Off - 2006

What began as a drunken bet over a mutual love for sprouts, has turned into Sprout Off - 2006. When Joe Stramik (Cafe Irie employee) boosted that he felt he was capable of eating 500 sprouts to friend and fellow sprout lover Matthew Ball, better known as Mook, the challenge was born. Although Joe is well famed for his eating abilities it is possible that Mook has the mental upper hand to get him through the challenge and lift the sprout cup.

Who will win this feat of eating ability and take home the glory. The event will be staged at Cafe Irie, 38, Fore Street, Newquay on Saturday 30th December 2006, 1pm onwards. Not only is this a great opportunity to settle a bet but we will be able to raise money for two very important local charities, 'Surfers against Sewage' and 'The Rural community link project'. Please come along and show your support for our Sprout athletes and give generously to our chosen charities.
