Outside Events are a fantastic way to spread the word about SAS, raise vital funds and have fun at the same time. We’re always here to support you and ensure your event is a success, however with volunteers like you offering to do the legwork on these events it saves one of our most valuable resources - staff time! There are many ways in which you can help raise funds for us and you may well already have ideas of what you want to do – I’ve enclosed some information that should help get you started. Sponsored Events What you can do for us…

Decide what you want to get sponsored! This could be a sponsored swim, 24 hour football tournament, snogathon, or absolutely anything else (within the realms of decency!) that you can think of - the wilder and wackier the better! Send us details of the event on the form enclosed as soon as possible.

Please email (info@sas.org.uk) or post a copy of all text/images that you want to use in your promotion for us to authorise. Then fill up your sponsorship form (also enclosed) and after the event, collect your sponsorship money and send us a cheque or pay the money straight into our bank account (our bank details are at the bottom of the sponsorship form). Also if you could send us a couple of paragraphs on how it went we can see if we can put it in Pipeline to inspire others through your success!

What we can do for you…

• Advertise your event on our website & in Pipeline News
• Loan you banners and collection tins
• Give you stickers, catalogues, Pipeline magazines, membership forms & dispenser and a t-shirt to wear at the event
• Advise you of supportive shops and sponsors in your area that may be able to donate prizes
• Sometimes provide you with merchandise for raffles and prizes
• Give you a thank-you certificate
• Thank you in Pipeline & on the website
• If you take photo's of your event, please send some to us and as we like to see what you have done and we can put them on the website.

What you can do for us…

This could be an event in your local pub/club (DJ night/bands/fancy dress party/surf movie night), with proceeds from the door or a proportion of the ticket price going to SAS and/or holding a raffle in aid of SAS. Or why not organise your own surf contest and donate the entry fee to SAS? If you own a bar or restaurant you could hold a fundraising night with a proportion of each drink/meal price going to us. Send us details of the event on the form enclosed as soon as possible, letting us know what promotional materials you want from us. Publicise the event in your area as much as possible – perhaps you could produce some posters and flyers to distribute (we can send you our logo to endorse the event).
