This is now the 16th year of the SAS Ball!
The Ball is the core fundraiser for SAS and all the funds generated go directly back into supporting our campaign work for clean and safe water.
Key campaigns for SAS in 2006 and beyond include combating the threats of climate change to recreational water users, challenging manufacturers of products found littering the UK's coastline, lakes and river systems, lobbying for safer shipping practices that prevent pollution incidents damaging our watery playgrounds and seeing the removal of toxic chemicals from everyday household cleaning products that bypass sewage treatment works and harm the water environment.
The Ball is our key fundraiser and helps us organise high profile peaceful actions, lobby decision makers in the corridors of power and educate all to become better citizens in safeguarding areas of recreational water use from pollution.
The Ball is also an SAS members only event and in part is our way of saying thanks to the members for their support of our campaign work over the previous year.
Part of the intrigue that goes with the SAS Ball is that the music line up remains a secret until the night!
Your guaranteed a memorable night at the Ball whoever plays but here's a run down of some of the bands who have played over the year's - a kind of Who's Who (though The Who haven't played)...
Faithless, The Darkness, Razorlight, The Futureheads, Hundred Reasons, The Subways, Do Me Bad Things, Kosheen, Dreadzone, The Freestylers and The 22-20's.
