Earthwave 2007

31 triumphant surfers on one wave as the UK attempt to break the world
record for the most surfers riding the same wave at the same time!

Sadly not enough to break the world record, which is now held by Brazil, who recorded 84 surfers on one wave, but enough to help raise £300 for SAS!

Earthwave is a worldwide event, so as the UK attempt in Polzeath Cornwall
got under way, 7 other countries across the world were also attempting to
break the record which until Sunday stood at 73 surfers on one wave.

Despite grey skies and mild waves, enthusiasm was high amongst the 120
surfers, aged from 6-60, who registered to take part.

"The event was a resounding success, and with over a hundred surfers taking part raising around £300 for charity" said Ticket to Ride co-founder and event organiser Will Hayler, "See you down there again next year and fingers crossed for a little more sun, and a lot more surf. Either way we're out there taking on the elements and loving every last memorable second."

Thank you so much to everyone who took part in the event and particularly to Ticket to Ride and Surfs Up Surf School who organised it!
