To register for the paddle you need to have collected at least £20 and have with you on the day a cheque or cash equal to the amount you have raised in sponsorship. You can register at the SAS tent by the Palace Pier between 9:30am and 11:30am. The paddle will start at 12 noon. You have to be 16 years or over to do this paddle and be able to swim at least 200 yards in the open sea. This pier is longer than it looks so be paddle fit!

It is essential that everyone starts from the official entry point as
directed by the beach marshalls (for safety reasons and for the photo opportunity!). You will receive full 'paddle' instructions on
registration at the SAS tent but please listen carefully to the beach marshalls at all times.
In the event of bad weather we would have to cancel the actual paddle round the pier but replace it with a sponsored surf (!) or vigil on the beach.
Parking: Best to get to madeira Drive (the beach level seafront road from the marina to the pier) as early as possible. For late comers there is car park for us next to the marina and a ‘surfers specail’ volks railway train (with a board rack!) for £1 return!
Every day the equivilant of 80 Olympic swimming pools worth of
untreated sewage are pumped out to sea from Brighton. We have been campaigning for full treatment for over 12 years and never has your action been more urgent. For more on the campaign and issues go to www.sas.org.uk
Sponsor forms are available from the SAS head office. A list of shops in Brighton stocking the sponsor forms will be made available shortly. Click here for the entry form
