Boscombe Paddle Around the Pier will be held on Saturday 30th July 2005 the
event is to generate awareness and raise campaign funds for both Surfers
Against Sewage (SAS) and the RNLI Beach Lifeguards.
This is first year we have done a paddle at Boscombe, the Paddle Round The
Pier is not a new concept – it has proved a vital in raising awareness for
SAS in its campaign for clean and safe water in Brighton. We hope the
Boscombe event will do the same for SAS’s national campaigns to keep the sea
clean and the RNLI Beach Lifeguards vital role in saving lives at sea.
This is sure to be a FUN event as well as carrying a very serious message.
As an SAS supporter we hope you can get involved with us by paddling round
the pier on your chosen watercraft.
You’ll find all the details about the event on the sponsorship form, (PDF format), but do
remember you have to be over 16 years of age to take part and you’ll need to
register at the SAS tent alongside the pier from 11am – 12noon. The paddle
begins at 12:30pm.
Bournemouth/Boscombe is a great seaside resort that has benefited from
improvements to the sewage treatment system. Unfortunately not all beaches
across the UK have been so lucky. We ask for your support to help SAS and
the RNLI Beach Lifeguards deliver the clean and safe beach message even
further.
