Summer Madness 2004 Launch into Summer

A weekend of adrenaline and extreme activity beckons under the guise of 'Launch Into Summer,' taking place on Truro's Lemon Quay Piazza on Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th of June. With dry surfing competitions and stunt bike demonstrations being just a few of the attractions, this promises to be an awesome kick-start to the summer. Wipeout, Truro's brand spanking new surf store and its parent company Tony Pryce Sports are organising the event with support from big names, including Animal and Dirty Dog.

The aim is to raise money for the well deserving local charity Surfers Against Sewage; who, having been established since 1990, campaign for cleaner, safer recreational waters for surfers and bathers alike. Cornwall's beautifully rugged coastline, with its sandy beaches and crystal waters attract hundreds of thousands of tourists every year, contributing greatly to our county's economy.

Without SAS, our seas would not be so blue, our beaches not so golden and our economy not so affluent. Therefore all the proceeds from this event will go to help this very just cause. Surfers Against Sewage will be holding their own mini event on the quay and also contributing will be Lucozade and Clinique, who will be running their 'Safe in the Sun' skincare road show. Adding to the interest of this weekend will be a rally car simulator and an appearance from a very special Formula One car. All that is left to say is that we hope to see you there, and to wish you a great 'Launch Into Summer!'
